  • Arbitrary punishment?

Now the warmer weather seems to be arriving, spare a thought for the lot of the poor vigneron who has produced that delicious Provence rosé in your glass.  The photo shows the roads near Brignoles at the weekend.  It is not snow, but hail from a storm which has seriously hit maybe 5000 hectares of vineyard.  Some damage is always expected every year, but as M. Alberto of the Vidauban winery says "this is the worst hail event I have ever seen in my lifetime".  Insurance will only go so far to cover the costs, so the estates which were spared are breathing a sigh of relief.  Luckily both Vidauban and Sainte Marguerite got away with it.  Santé.

  • On Trade Supplier of the Year

At the Drinks Business Awards 2012, the wine trade's most respected and recognised trade-facing awards, Enotria were named On Trade Supplier of the Year. The panel of judges from across the drinks industry gave us this award - making reference to our strong service ethic and the strength of our portfolio.

There was more cause for celebration at the same awards, held each year at the London International Wine Fair, when Alison Levett, Enotria CEO, was named The Drinks Business Woman of the Year by the judges. Here she is pictured with both of our awards on our stand at the London Wine Fair.

  • Farewell Baljit

Today we say 'goodbye' to Baljit Gill, who has worked at Enotria for thirty seven years. Thirty seven. Wow. Enotria has a lot of staff who have been with us for many moons, but Baljit tops the lot. She joined us straight from college in 1975, and apart from a short spell in IT (!), she has been overseeing the Sales Order office ever since.

We're really proud of Baljit's achievement, and there will be some sad faces around when she leaves. "It's the people who have kept me here" she says . "The closeness of the orders team and the friendships we've had over the years. You might have the odd cross word with a colleague buts it's always forgiven because you're friends."

Now Baljit's moving into a new house with her two sons, two daughters in law and two grandchildren. "It has half an acre of garden too, so I'm definitely going to be busy!" she says. All the best to you from all of us here.

  • Enotria launches mobile website

“Order when you like, and where you like.” Hot on the heels of the completely new design for , offering a much improved customer experience, Enotria is very pleased to announce the arrival of our mobile website.

This has been designed specifically with ordering in mind.  Any Enotria customers with an online login and a smartphone or tablet will be able to use it. There’s a list of compatible devices and information on how to get started here.

The mobile website, unlike its big brother, is designed to work when users are out of range of the internet – for example in their cellar, or when travelling.  As long as the wines are on the customer’s bespoke wine list (set up in advance by the customer service team), they can be added to an order even when offline. Once the device comes back into an area of internet coverage, the order can be placed as normal.

Enotria Communications Manager Ben Smith comments: “Good customer service is all about making the order process as painless as possible. We’ve put a lot of thought and effort into making the website more user friendly and useful – and the mobile version was a key part of what our customers told us they needed.

“Incredibly, only around 5% of UK companies currently have a mobile version of their website. We’re happy to be leading the forward thinking where trade wine ordering is concerned.”

Scan this QR code to go directly to the mobile site.

If you need a login for your Enotria account, please call us on 020 8961 5161 or email us.

    Getting started

Q: What can I view the mobile website on?

A: any of the below – simply type our usual address in and you’ll be taken to the mobile site.

    • iphone
    • ipad
    • android based handsets (eg HTC,  Samsung, Motorola)
    • Blackberry (version 6 and above)

Q: How does ordering work on the mobile site?

When you log on you’ll choose your delivery address just as you normally would on the main website. Then you’ll see the wines in your wine list which you can tap on, to view more information and to add them to your order.

If you want to add wines not on your main wine list, click ‘search’. Then you can either do a word-based search or add search filters to find the wine you’re looking for. Once you’ve added that to your order, you’re ready to process it as usual.  Confirm your order, agree the Ts and Cs and add any special delivery info and your order is complete!
