  1. 2012 Teuto Toscana Rosso IGT, Tenuta Podernovo

    It is one of the finest expressions in Tuscany of a wine made almost exclusively from Sangiovese: it comes from grapes grown in the Boscogrande and Ginestra vineyards at Podernovo, the Lunelli family’s estate in the hills near Pisa that has been certified as organic since 2012.
    A deep, brilliant ruby red in colour.
    On the nose it offers a wide, elegant, multi-layered range of fruity fragrances, including notes of plums, sweet cherries and sour cherries in brandy, as well as hints of violets and finally balm-like and spicy tones.
    It is rich on the palate, with elegant tannins and well-balanced fruit. The finish is very long indeed.

  2. 2015 Toscana Rosso Aliotto DOC Organic, Tenuta Podernovo 6/75

    This is a splendid blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot grown in the vineyards of Tenuta Podernovo, which lies in the heart of the hills near Pisa and is owned by the Lunelli family. The property is currently being converted to organic farming methods.
    It has a luminous ruby red colour.
    The nose reveals elegant notes of morello cherries and fruit in brandy, as well as herbal and mineral tones.
    A well-structured yet supple wine that has an attractive roundness, due to its well-modulated and refined tannins. Overall, it is very elegant, with its well-balanced tanginess and mellow finish suade.

  3. 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, Fattoria dei Barbi

    Brick red in colour with earthy brown edges. The nose is pronounced and complex, offering an entertaining array of red and black berry fruits, spices and oaky aromas. The palate is medium to full bodied with a richly complex middle and an everlasting, elegant finish. The tannic structure that dominated the wine in its youth is beginning to mellow and allow mature, secondary characteristics to show. A stunning wine with enormous appeal.
