  • Tasting Note: An amazing blend of Ribolla Gialla, native to Friuli, Malvasia and Riesling, the wine has a perfumed scent of oranges and flowers and is slightly reminiscent of fine Viognier and Gewurztraminer. Wonderful un-oaked fruit expression.
  • Food Matching: Braised pork loin cutlets with thyme-lemon sauce, fish and vegetable soup with lime, ginger, and cilantro, warm asparagus and prosciutto salad or summer rice salad with goat cheese dressing.
  • Vineyard: The soil is predominantly marlstone and sandstone belonging to the Flysch formation from the Eocene era that gave rise to a rocky substrate that later formed the characteristic “ponca” of the Collio area. The Ribolla vines face east/south, Friulano south and Riesling north/west. Only small volumes are made and this enables Jermann to control the quality of each individual parcel by tending it meticulously throughout the year. Yields are kept low in order to increase concentration and are harvested at the optimum ripeness/acidity balance.
  • Vinification: Through very carefull vinification of the individual parcels Jermann is able to ensure that the maximum amount of elegance and transparency is given space to show itself in the finished wine. The wine is partly matured for 6 months in 750-litre barrels made from Slavonian oak.
