At Enotria&Coe, sustainability isn’t just a target - it’s central to everything we do. As a leading supplier in the drinks industry, we’re proud to be setting the pace for meaningful change, with clear, actionable goals to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and wider supply chain. We’ve committed to achieving net zero emissions in our own operations by 2030, and across our global supply chain by 2050. To reach those goals, we’re investing in the technologies, partnerships, and processes that make a measurable difference - for the planet, for our partners, and for the future of our industry.
Our sustainability strategy focuses on a defined set of high-impact priorities. This allows us to ensure accountability and deliver measurable results. These initiatives are not only about reducing emissions - they’re designed to build long-term value for our customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Our Account Managers are seeing first-hand how important sustainability has become for our customers. For example, throughout our Restaurant Associates accounts, wine selections are now often based on producers’ ability to demonstrate sustainable practices. Following their recent Sustainability Summit, many accounts have proactively requested wines and products that align with these values - underscoring how seriously the trade is taking environmental responsibility.
Packaging is one of the drinks industry’s largest contributors to carbon emissions. That’s why we’re taking bold steps to: remove it where we can, reduce it where we can’t, reuse more, and recycle the rest.
Our Packaging Charter provides a clear roadmap for reducing waste and shifting towards sustainable materials.
By the end of 2025, we aim to:
One standout example is the National Theatre, which has chosen to source wines produced primarily in Europe with strong sustainable credentials. They have also made the switch from glass to fully recyclable canned soft drinks - further reducing packaging weight and waste.
Similarly, we previously supplied all of the Italian restaurant, Bancone’s bottled water, which amounted to 3,000 cases per annum. However, in 2023, in response to their new sustainability goals, we facilitated an introduction with Aqua Libre, Enotria’s filtered water preferred partners. They installed filtration systems across all sites, thus eradicating Bancone’s need for bottled water. Although this meant we no longer supplied Bancone with water, this solution significantly benefitted our customer from both a sustainability perspective and solved their previous storage problem.
Transport is another key area of focus in our sustainability journey. That’s why we are:
A great example of this sustainability mindset in action is Bloomberg, whose London headquarters is one of the most sustainable office buildings in the world. Their operations - from lighting powered by solar panels to annual sustainability audits led by their Chief Sustainability Officer - reflect the same kind of forward-thinking ethos we champion in our own supply chain partnerships.
We believe sustainability is a shared responsibility. That’s why we’re working closely with producers, trade bodies, and our customers to create real, lasting change across the industry.
