Château du Donjon

Château du Donjon is a 45-hectare estate located in the heart of Minervois, now under the guidance of Jean Panis. Originally trained as a sound engineer, Panis transitioned into wine in 1996, taking over the family property and swiftly proving his talent. His very first vintage earned the top accolade in the Guide Hachette, setting the tone for a career defined by precision, character, and an instinctive understanding of terroir.

Jean Panis crafts wines that reflect the sun-soaked, rugged landscape of the Minervois. The style is defined by ripeness and suppleness, offering a bold yet balanced expression of southern French varietals. His technical background lends a methodical approach to winemaking, yet the wines remain unforced and expressive. Recognition from critics such as Robert Parker has further affirmed Château du Donjon’s position as a benchmark for accessible, characterful Languedoc wines.
