Mosnel is a historic family-owned producer in Franciacorta. Founded as Azienda Agricola Barzano Barboglio in 1836, five generations later it became a protagonist in the transformation of the region from a district producing simple red wines, to leading a revolution in Italian traditional method sparkling. They organically farm 41 ha planted in densities between 5000 to 8000 vines per hectare, with yields around 2kg per vine. Their style prizes elegance above all else, extended lees and barrel maturation and a higher-than-average use of Pinot Bianco in the blend, lending individuality and regional typicity to the wines.
