Following the sale of their Numanthia winery to LVMH, the Eguren brothers set to work on taking their learnings a step further to create what is Spain's most premium and iconic wine estate, Teso La Monja. Using a selection of ancient, ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vineyards they have crafted a concise range of red wines that showcase Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) at its very best. Concentrated yet elegant, with a purity of fruit like no other region in Spain, Toro's flagship producer should be on the radar for any serious sommelier wishing to add diversity to their Spanish red wine list.
