Vina Mein
Emilio Rojo is widely regarded as Galicia’s finest white wine. The 1.2 hectare vineyard is situated on the north-facing slope of Leiro in Ourense. The wine is a field blend of Treixadura, Loureiro, Lado, Godello, Caiño Blanco, Albariño and Torrontes grown on unique “sabrego” soils, which are meticulously maintained with organic viticultural practices. The Viña Mein wines come from the opposite side of the valley, from south-facing slopes barely a few kilometres away from Emilio Rojo. What these wines have in common is that all fruit is picked at optimum ripeness and fermented separately. At harvest, the winery is full of old oak, cement, glass and stainless steel vessels exploring the potential of microvinifications. This is artisanal winemaking at its finest.
