Tasting note
Ruby-red wine with a bright purple rim and aromas of strawberries, cherries and warm spice. Juicy on the palate, bursting with red fruits over smooth, well-integrated fine tannins. The finish is long and fruity.
Viticulture
The old vines, averaging at least 25 years old, are grown on sandy clay soils known locally in the Loire Valley as the Sables de Sologne with its unique gravelly topsoil.
Vinification
Gamay grapes, picked late for ripe skins, are crushed and whole bunch fermented. Aged in stainless steel tanks for six to nine months, the final blend captures the vivacity typical of the Loire, offering a true sense of place.
Food Match
Pan-fried duck, moussaka, lamb tagine, falafel, mushrooms stir fried with soy, or tomato bread with jamón serrano.
