Tasting note
Fabulously textured Riesling-Gewürztraminer blend, heady with lime, flowers and exotic spice.
Viticulture
Exclusive Kerner vines at Fechner Bros. in Northern Eden Valley, Australia, discovered after a 2003 German visit. Nestled by a Limestone quarry, these vines grow through clay into limestone bedrock, embodying Germanic white varieties. A dry breeze permits gentle weed/disease control. Coordinates: 34°28'39S 139°4'11"E."
Vinification
The three varieties undergo machine harvesting, with Gewürztraminer having 20-24 hours of additional skin contact. Co-fermentation in a controlled inox fermenter utilizes indigenous and selected yeasts for delicate aromas. No fining is used, and minimal SO2 is added before bottling, reflecting a stylistic choice.
