Tasting note
The wine parades a combination of peach halves, roasted marcona almonds and lemon meringue pie. White nectarine and green melon dominate the palate with an oyster shell saline finish. This wine gathers up a collection of intriguing aromatics and delivers the zippy acidity and elegance of cool climate Orange in one.
Viticulture
From a viticulturist perspective, we strive for low-intervention grape growing and wine-making practices. We aim to utilise Mother Nature at every step of the growing season and believe that good canopy management is vital in producing cool climate wines that stand out from the rest.
Vinification
The vineyard is at an elevation of around 900m, and harvest takes place at night to retain as much fruit character as possible. Grapes are pressed as soon as they arrive at the winery and fermentation is with indigenous yeasts. Matured for seven months in a combination of 20% new and 80% seasoned oak.
Food Match
Sweet shellfish like pearl meat or razor clams.
