Tasting note
A vibrant display of fresh red fruits, boiled lollies, red confectionery, pomegranate, and crushed rose petals. Slight hints of dried herbs emerge as the wine warms. The palate mirrors the aroma with redcurrant, cherries, pomegranate, and red plums. Light to medium bodied, lively acidity, and whispers of savoury tannins to finish.
Viticulture
Estate-grown with 63% Nero d'Avola and 37% Montepulciano. Benefiting from ample winter rain, the vines thrived from the start. A cool summer ensured balanced growth, resulting in fruit marked by rich colour, natural acidity, and concentrated flavours.
Vinification
Spontaneous fermentation, 10 days on skins and 3 months in a combination of stainless steel and old French barriques.
