Tasting note
Initally the nose shows fresh cherry and dried herbs. As the wine opens up in the glass we see blood plums anddark chocolate, synonymous with this wine. This easy drinking Sangiovese has it all; earthiness, spiced plums, cherries, chocolate and dried Italian herbs. The savoury finish is met with soft and well-balanced acidity.
Viticulture
Cool vintage delivered near optimal ripening conditions with daily temperatures above 15 celcius before 9am and not rising above 30 celcius unitl late afternoon. Perfect for maximum flavour development.
Vinification
The winemaking process involves cold maceration at 8°C, preserving grape skins and juice contact for wild ferment characteristics, followed by Brunelo yeast. Resulting in fresh, fruity aromas. Hot fermentation at 30°C adds chalky tannins and savory notes. Aged in oak barrels and tanks for vibrancy and freshness.
