Tasting note
Elegant, fragrant Grenache from seriously old (1886) vines, perfumed with raspberry and cherry and with a fine, fresh scent of herbs.
Viticulture
Hand picked fruit from hand pruned vines located in the hamlet of Ebeneezer in the North of the Barossa Valley. These ancient, dry grown bush vines were planted in 1886.
Vinification
Fermented with indigenous yeast in open fermenters with 35% whole bunch in the ferment. Gently basket pressed then matured in old French oak.
Food Match
Fragrant lighter style dishes including seafood. Also matches well with gently spiced Moroccan tagine or paprika spiced Spanish cuisine. Caramelised onion and eggplant tart works well for a vegetarian option.
