Vineyard
The lion share of fruit for this wine is from Blind River Vineyard, which is the driest, coolest, and most wind-swept sub-region located on Marlborough's Southern Coast. The soil is free draining, and a mix of stone and clay.
Viticulture
The 2024 growing season started with a cool weather pattern, which brought a significant frost. Eventually Marlborough's well known sunshine returned and the summer was consistently hot, dry and windy. The near - perfect conditions allowed us to harvest our Sauvignon Blanc when it was perfectly ripe. The 2024 fruit quality is the best we have ever seen!
Vinification
Overlooking the ocean in dry and windswept Blind River, we grow our grapes in harsh conditions. Our grapes enjoy the region’s long sunshine hours, while the oceanbreeze keeps things cooler and drier. Once picked, they are gently pressed and cool fermented to retain the vibrant fruit characters.
