Tasting note
Full and fruity Sicilian red, spilling over with prunes, mulberry and black cherry, the dark fruit complementing spicy aromas of liquorice, tobacco and pepper.
Viticulture
The vineyard is characterised by high sunlight exposure and warm summers which provide the strong flavours in the wine, as well as clay-limestone soils. All harvesting is done by hand throughout September.
Food Match
Perfect with tomato based Sicilian-style dishes of timbale or parmigiana. The power of the wine will see it marry excellently with long-seasoned cheeses, such as Caciocavallo Raguso, or Pecorino.
