Tasting note
Delightful, biscuity vintage Champagne, the bakery scents freshened by citrus, the mouth a morsel of candied fruit.
Viticulture
In 2008, favorable weather blessed the grapes, leading to an exceptional harvest. Veuve Clicquot proudly presents the 2008 Vintage, the third this decade, marking the House's 65th since its inaugural 1810 Vintage.
Vinification
New to this 2008 Vintage: 5% of the wines were produced and aged in wooden casks from forests in Central France, from Allier and Vosges. This was to increase the complexity and aromatic richness of our Vintages. These cask-aged wines constitute the spices of the blend. Their aromas are very lightly woody, vanilla and toasted aromas.
Food Match
Smoked eel or as an Apéritif. Also 12 months aged Comté Fillet of quail, Tataki of farm-reared veal and Parmesan biscuits.
