Tasting note
Appearance: Bright yellow with green hues.
Nose: Intense and perfumed with citrus aromas like lime and mandarin, green cherimoyas, and jasmine. With age, typical Riesling petrol notes will emerge.
Palate: Citrus and floral notes reappear with firm, crisp acidity and depth.
Viticulture
We found an exceptional spot in Leyda Valley, 4km from the Pacific Ocean, for crafting fresh wines. As pioneers in this exclusive 2,000-hectare valley, its coastal proximity makes it ideal for aromatic whites like Riesling. The Neblina block, named for its early fog, is planted with massal selection at 5,556 plants/ha.
Vinification
The grapes were manually harvested in mid-April at 20.8° Brix. After initial vineyard selection, they were sorted again at the winery. Whole-cluster pressing was done with a pneumatic press. The juice was chilled to 8-10°C, settled with pectic enzymes, and fermented (30% in second-use French oak barrels, 70% in stainless steel) at 13-16°C for 18-20 days.
Food Match
