Chambourcin
A deeply pigmented hybrid, Chambourcin thrives in North America and Australia, producing inky, fruit-forward wines with vibrant acidity. Black cherry, plum, and brambly spice define its flavor profile, while its natural resistance to disease makes it a reliable choice in humid climates. Unlike many hybrids, Chambourcin avoids the “foxy” character associated with certain non-vinifera grapes, instead offering a clean, juicy palate with moderate tannins. Often vinified in a fresh, unoaked style, it can also take on depth with barrel aging. A versatile, modern grape that continues to gain respect.
