Nocera
A historic Sicilian red, Nocera is best known for its role in blending but has recently gained recognition as a varietal wine. Deeply pigmented and structured, it offers dark fruit flavors—black cherry, plum—alongside Mediterranean herbs and a distinct saline minerality. Naturally high in acidity, it produces fresh yet age-worthy wines, often with earthy, spicy undertones. Once at risk of extinction, dedicated producers are reviving Nocera, proving its potential as one of Sicily’s most characterful reds.
