Pinot Precoce
A rare mutation of Pinot Noir, Pinot Precoce (also known as Frühburgunder in Germany) ripens earlier than its parent variety, making it ideal for cooler climates. It produces medium-bodied reds with soft tannins, bright acidity, and delicate red fruit flavors—raspberry, cherry, and cranberry—complemented by earthy and floral notes. While less structured than classic Pinot Noir, it offers an approachable, elegant profile with a silky mouthfeel. Found primarily in Germany, France, and parts of England, it is valued for its ability to ripen fully in short growing seasons, resulting in refined wines with a charmingly light yet complex character.
