Raboso
A bold, high-acid red from Veneto, Raboso is known for its tart cherry, cranberry, and spicy undertones. Naturally high in tannins, it can be austere in youth but ages beautifully, developing notes of leather, tobacco, and dried fruit. Once widely planted, it fell out of favor due to its rustic nature but is now being revived for its structure and longevity. Often used in blends, it is also made into sparkling and sweet wines.
