Seyval Blanc
A hybrid white grape developed for cooler climates, Seyval Blanc thrives in England, Canada, and the northeastern United States. It produces crisp, citrus-driven wines with notes of green apple, grapefruit, and mineral undertones. Naturally high in acidity, it is often compared to Chablis-style Chardonnay or unoaked Sauvignon Blanc. Due to its adaptability, it is used in both still and sparkling wines. While hybrids are sometimes dismissed in favor of vinifera varieties, Seyval has proven its ability to produce elegant, food-friendly wines. In the right hands, it offers an attractive balance of brightness, texture, and subtle complexity.
