Trebbiano
One of Italy’s most widely planted white grapes, Trebbiano is prized for its fresh acidity and crisp, citrus-driven profile. While often dismissed as simple, top expressions—like Trebbiano d’Abruzzo—offer remarkable depth, showing orchard fruit, white flowers, and a touch of almond. In France, as Ugni Blanc, it forms the base of Cognac and Armagnac, valued for its high acidity. Young Trebbiano is bright and refreshing, perfect for seafood and salads. With age, it can develop nutty, waxy complexity. A humble but essential grape, it excels in both easy-drinking wines and structured, age-worthy expressions.
