Trepat
A native of Catalonia, Trepat is primarily used for light, aromatic reds and rosé Cava wines. It produces elegant, fresh wines with bright red berry flavors—strawberry, raspberry, and cherry—often with floral and spicy undertones. Naturally high in acidity and low in tannins, it is well-suited to both sparkling and still wine styles. Though historically overlooked in favor of more robust reds, Trepat is gaining popularity for its refreshing, vibrant character. As producers explore its potential, single-varietal Trepat wines are emerging, showcasing its delicate, Pinot Noir-like charm and suitability for Mediterranean terroirs.
