Founded in 1790 by the Colombini family, the winery has been producing some of the finest Brunello di Montalcino wines for over two centuries. The winery's founder, Stefano Colombini, was a pioneer of modern winemaking techniques in Tuscany. He was one of the first to plant Sangiovese grapes in the Montalcino region and recognized the potential for the grapes to produce high-quality wines. His dedication and passion for winemaking has been passed down through seven generations of the Colombini family. Today, with Stefano Cinelli Colombini serving as the CEO and winemaker, Fattoria dei Barbi is one of the most respected and renowned wineries in Italy. The winery's vineyards are spread over 300 hectares of land, and the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure the highest quality.
