O Luar do Sil

Following 20 years of making red wines in Ribera del Duero with Pago de los Capellanes, the natural restlessness of the Rodero Villa family carried them on to a new adventure in Valdeorras, Galicia. The name of the new estate, O Luar do Sil, means ‘The Reflection of the Moon on the River Sil’, alongside which vineyards cloak the steep terrain of the rugged valley. This specific location was chosen because the land here is unique: the granite and slate soils, together with the microclimate, have created the ideal conditions for artisanal viticulture. The wines produced in the region using the indigenous Godello grape are subtle, mineral and fresh, with complexity to evolve over the years.
