Tasting note
The aromatics show typical floral and zesty notes of Muscat with a complex smoky mineral hint. The dry palate is very well balanced by a crisp acidity, with fruit intensity and a soft texture with a lingering finish.
Viticulture
Gallardía is a tribute to the cool climate coastal vineyards of the Itata Valley located in the southern region of Chile; it is the traditional cradle of Chile’s viticulture, with vines dating back to 1551. Sustainable agriculture, including dry farming and ploughing with horses is practiced in the De Martino family's vineyards here.
Vinification
Bunches are destemmed and the berries pressed. Spontaneous fermentation in used French oak barrels. The wine does a partial malolactic fermentation and is aged on its fine lees for 6 months prior to bottling.
Food Match
Wonderful with a wide array of fresh Chilean seafood, summer salads and cheeses, or simply on its own, fresh and chilled to perfection.
