Muscat of Alexandria
One of the oldest cultivated grape varieties, Muscat of Alexandria is valued for its bold aromatics and sun-drenched ripeness. Grown across the Mediterranean, it produces deeply fragrant wines with notes of orange peel, jasmine, and honeyed apricot. Often used in fortified styles as Spanish Moscatel and Sicilian Zibibbo, it excels in sweet wines where its natural sugar and floral intensity shine. Despite its historical significance, it is less refined than Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains, offering a more robust and exotic expression.
