Tasting note
Loureiro from northern Portugal, as floral as its name, with a mouthful of green apples and white currants and a fine, long finish.
Viticulture
The vineyards are planted to a density of around 1666 plants/ha in order to generate a yield of 75hl/ha. The soil is predominantly granitic soils & 90% of the vineyards are trained to cordon system.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless tanks at a low temperature between 12- 14ºC for around three weeks, followed by a period of ageing on its lees.
Food Match
It pairs perfectly with mussels, squid, octopus & oysters.
