Southern Burgundy red, exhaling strong notes of blackcurrant and blackberry, with a touch of spice on the nose.
Viticulture
The Mâconnais region is in south Bourgogne between the plain of the Sâone and the Beaujolais heights. In its south-west corner, the terroir moves onto granite with steeper slopes exposed west to east.
Vinification
The grapes are de-stemmed and put int the vat where they are heated for 12 to 18 hours according to the desired colour potential. Then the vat is cooled for alcoholic fermentation
Food Match
It goes perfectly with Mâconnais chitterling sausage and goat’s cheese, as well as hearty food such as pork sauté and game casseroles.
