In the press

This has a very fine, fresh red-plum and mulberry nose with a cedary and leafy edge. The palate has fine but firm tannins, set in an elegant shape. It carries effortlessly long and holds impressive focus. Drink or hold.
James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com
Youthful and vibrant purple. Distinctive floral and eucalypt note on the nose. Such softness of fruit with some sweet notes and surprisingly soft tannins. Attractive and long and complex. I am surprised at how rounded the tannins are here already. Drink 2019-2025.

Tasting note

Elegantly refined Shiraz, akin to Burgundy's texture. Delicate freesia, clove, and spice aromas merge with dusty vineyard and barrel cellar notes. Sumptuous plum, cherry fruit, silky texture, hints of eucalyptus. Balanced acidity and tannins. Ready to savor now or age for 15+ years.

Viticulture

Coonawarra is perched on a low limestone dune, situated 80 kilometres from the sea. This highly sort after location, has intensely red terra rossa soils running in a narrow 20-kilometre strip from Penola in the south to Glenroy in the north.

Vinification

The region's international reputation comes from this regionally specific terra rossa. The unique combination of this rich red soil and a cool southerly climate is optimal for growing intensely flavoured grapes.

Food Match

Dolmades, marinaded octopus, Olives, Fresh tomatoes, Eggplant and dips – taramasalata, Hummus and Tzatziki.
