Wynns
In 1891, a Scottish pioneer began planting vines in this corner of Coonawarra, but it was only in 1951 that Melbourne-based wine merchants Samuel and David Wynn bought and consolidated the vineyards, and established the Wynns estate. This estate was instrumental to the history of this region, now famed for its distinctive terra rossa, which is uniquely well-suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. With winemaker Sue Hodder at the helm for over 30 years, the estate has seen remarkable stability, enabling the delivery of long-term vision to rejuvenate the vines and reconstruct the vineyards.
