Kerner
A German crossing of Riesling and Trollinger, Kerner retains Riesling’s bright acidity but with a rounder, fruitier profile. Green apple, citrus, and subtle spice lead, often with a touch of floral perfume. Thriving in cool climates, it produces crisp, refreshing wines with a mineral backbone. Though not as widely planted as its parent, Kerner offers a delightful balance of structure and approachability, particularly in Germany’s Pfalz and South Tyrol.
