Negroamaro
A key player in Puglia’s sun-drenched reds, Negroamaro is robust, full-bodied, and deeply colored, offering black plum, dark cherry, and Mediterranean herbs. It thrives in Salice Salentino, where it produces structured, spicy wines with soft tannins and a lingering, slightly bitter finish. Often blended with Malvasia Nera for added roundness, it is earthy and rustic, yet always balanced by a fresh, food-friendly acidity. With age, it gains layers of dried fruit, tobacco, and balsamic richness. A quintessentially southern Italian grape, Negroamaro pairs beautifully with rich pasta dishes, grilled meats, and slow-cooked stews.
