Timorasso
A once nearly extinct white grape from Piedmont, Timorasso has experienced a revival, producing some of Italy’s most complex and age-worthy whites. It offers intense minerality, bright acidity, and flavors of green apple, citrus, and white flowers, often developing honeyed and nutty notes with age. Unlike many Italian whites, Timorasso has a rich, textured mouthfeel, sometimes drawing comparisons to fine Riesling. Grown primarily in the Colli Tortonesi region, it thrives in limestone-rich soils, producing wines with remarkable structure and longevity. Once overlooked in favor of Cortese and Arneis, Timorasso is now celebrated as a serious, terroir-driven white with exceptional aging potential.
