Tokaji
With a history that reaches back to the time of King Louis XV, Tokaji wines have long been celebrated as some of the best in the world. Nestled beneath the towering Carpathian Mountains and influenced by humid conditions caused by the rivers Bodrog and Tisza, Tokaji grapes develop a special kind of noble rot called botrytis which concentrates the grape sugars and offers a characteristic flavour to Tokaji's unique dessert wines. Today Tokaji producers also craft dry white wines from local Furmint and Hárslevelű grapes, with these fantastic wines gaining increased global recognition and popularity.
