Godello
Once nearly extinct, Godello has seen a revival in northwest Spain, particularly in Valdeorras, where it produces structured whites with citrus, peach, and wet stone minerality. Combining the richness of Chardonnay with the freshness of Albariño, it is medium-bodied with vibrant acidity. Some versions see oak aging, adding depth and spice. Young Godello is crisp and floral, while aged examples develop waxy, nutty complexity. It pairs beautifully with shellfish, grilled fish, and creamy sauces. Elegant yet full of character, Godello is a rising star in Spanish white wines, showcasing both power and finesse.
