Sustainable Packaging at Enotria&Coe: Driving Positive Change from Bottle to Box

At Enotria&Coe, innovation isn't just a buzzword - it's a core principle that shapes how we operate every day. We’re actively pioneering smarter, safer, and more sustainable transport practices across our network. Here are three key initiatives currently transforming the way we deliver for our customers:

1. Smart Telematics with AI-Driven Insights

We’ve recently implemented a state-of-the-art telematics system powered by Samsara, a leading provider of connected operations technology. This innovative system integrates real-time camera footage, vehicle diagnostics, and artificial intelligence to significantly enhance driver safety and operational efficiency.

  • Real-Time Hazard Alerts: The AI monitors the road via onboard cameras and provides instant alerts to drivers about potential hazards, helping to prevent accidents before they occur.
  • Driver Coaching: Real-time feedback supports drivers in improving their driving style, promoting safer and more fuel-efficient behaviour.
  • Sustainability Tracking: The system provides accurate, real-time data on carbon emissions and recommends routes that are most suitable for electrification.

This digital transformation of our fleet operations is helping us improve safety, reduce fuel consumption, and move towards a lower-carbon future.

2. Load Secure Trial: A Safer, Smarter Way to Transport

Safety is a top priority for Enotria&Coe - not just for our drivers, but also for our customers and the public. That’s why we’re trialling a new load restraint system designed to improve the security of goods in transit.

  • Enhanced Safety: The system keeps loads more securely in place, significantly reducing the risk of falling items and enhancing protection for our drivers and other road users.
  • Operational Efficiency: It is easier and quicker to use, reducing the time required to secure customer orders and increasing delivery efficiency.
  • Reduced Product Damage: More secure loads mean fewer incidents of damaged goods, ensuring a more consistent and reliable experience for our customers.

This straightforward but effective innovation is setting a new standard in both safety and operational performance.

3. Increasing Payload to Reduce Emissions

We are also overseeing a trial focused on increasing vehicle payload capacity through a series of intelligent modifications.

  • Vehicle Optimisation: By removing unnecessary equipment and weight from our vehicles, we are increasing payload capacity without compromising safety.
  • Greater Efficiency: These changes allow us to carry up to 15% more customer orders per journey, which helps reduce the total number of trips required.
  • Lower Emissions: Fewer journeys mean fewer miles travelled and a tangible reduction in overall emissions, supporting our sustainability goals.

While still in its early stages, this initiative has the potential to deliver meaningful environmental and economic benefits as we scale it further.

Beyond transport, our warehouse operations are also evolving to support a more efficient and customer-focused supply chain. We’ve redesigned the layout of our warehouse to optimise workflows and improve the speed of service, ensuring orders are processed and dispatched more efficiently. Our team continues to benefit from ongoing training and development, reinforcing our commitment to delivering exceptional service at every stage. Sustainability remains a key priority, and we’re proud to have -implemented a "No Landfill" policy - currently recycling nearly 100% of the waste generated through our warehouse operations. Additionally, by increasing our stock-holding capacity, we’re better positioned than ever to fulfil every customer order with confidence and consistency.

At Enotria&Coe, we believe that the future of logistics lies in continuous improvement. These innovations - from AI-powered telematics to our stock-holding capacity - reflect our commitment to safety, sustainability, and service excellence. We’re proud of the progress so far and excited for what’s to come as we continue to lead the way in operational innovation.
